I'm not sure how I've coped for so long without Paper Artsy Fresco Chalk Finish paints. I discovered them a few months ago when watching the AWESOME Kay Carley demoing at a craft show in Newbury. Of course, I needed all of them, and was lucky enough to be able to buy 12 different colours from a fellow crafter. This tag was my first ever play with Frescos.
To make this, I started by painting the tag in Candy Floss and Antarctic. I then used a Bee Crafty triangle stencil over the top in a darker colour (this is the darker blue you can see). I used Antarctic to stencil the same shapes again but slightly offset to create depth in the stencil - I love this affect!
To get the slightly aged look, I used a Stampendous texture stamp using the darker colour of blue and randomly stamped all over the tag.
For my main image, I've used a Kay Carley Paper Artsy stamp and sentiment, stamped in Versafine ink (my absolute favourite black ink - it picks up super fine detail). I added some color to the stamped images using some orange, yellow and green acrylic paints. I confess that my regular acrylics are super cheapy ones but when you use them alongside beautiful stamps, you'd never know they were £1.25 a bottle!
