So this month was my turn to pick the challenge and with wedding season coming, I wanted to do a wedding theme.
As you can see, I went with elements that are not only some of my favourites (glitter obviously!) but also those which are beautiful on wedding cards like vellum and florals.
I had a hard time picking which row to go with so I ended up creating my card and then matching against a row! I've gone for die cut, white and pearls.
For this card I've used the brand new Stamps by Chloe release - this is the Blossoming Heart stamp and matching die. What I adore about this set is that it lifts the petals out of the card leaving the middle bit in, so you get so much dimension.
I started by die cutting my heart and flowers then lined up the stamp over the die cut area - this is not easy and takes some patience but it's worth it! I've heat embossed the flowers in silver Wow powder. I then cut the larger heart from silver mirror card.
I wanted to add glitter under the petals to give a super sparkly effect and I did this using double sided adhesive sheets cut to size.
Here's a close up so you can see exactly how beautiful the stamp and die are, and you get a hint of the sparkle under the petals!
I was going to layer up the heart onto plain white pearl card but it just didn't look luxurious enough so I grabbed one of my Sue Wilson embossing folders and embossed the background card. I love the effect!
Once I'd finished this card, I wondered how it would look in different colours so I went through my pearl card and embossing powders to match up some colours and went crazy making more! Below you can see the different colours I chose - the red and purple have gone to my mum and mother in law as mothers day cards!
